Asking for help when you're bent, not broken 🫂
Matchbox Twenty's number-one ballad is a plea from someone damaged who asks for help instead of pretending to be whole.
"Bent" is the lead single from Matchbox Twenty's second album, Mad Season, written by Rob Thomas and released to radio in April 2000. Thomas described it as a hopeful love song in which someone admits their flaws and asks to be loved anyway, portraying two troubled people who choose to be together in a relationship he called co-dependent.
