"Not Ready to Make Nice" is the first single from the Dixie Chicks' (now The Chicks) 2006 album Taking the Long Way, written by Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, Emily Robison and Dan Wilson. It responds to the backlash after Maines criticized President George W. Bush at a 2003 London concert, which included country radio bans and threats.
