What it is
In the Heart of the Moon is a 2005 collaboration between Malian musicians Ali Farka Touré (guitar) and Toumani Diabaté (kora), released by World Circuit and produced by Nick Gold. The two had performed together for only about three hours over fifteen years. They recorded the album without rehearsal in a room atop the Hotel Mandé in Bamako, overlooking the Niger River, and said the music came together naturally.
