Listen to this when
Scared that things are going too well? That's not a warning sign. Sometimes it's just what it feels like to be happy. 🌅
Golden Hour grew out of a period of new love and marriage for Musgraves, and critics (e.g., NPR's First Listen) highlighted its mix of introverted insecurity, distrust of new happiness, cosmic wonder and affection for her mother.
Golden Hour is Kacey Musgraves' fourth studio album, released on March 30, 2018 by MCA Nashville and co-produced by Musgraves, Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk. She wrote it during a transitional period at the end of her twenties, with her marriage to musician Ruston Kelly as a major inspiration. The 13 songs move away from the small-town stories of her earlier work toward love, nature, happiness and introspection.
