Chai, a 25-year-old aspiring rock star, has cybernetic surgery at Vandelay Technologies, and a music player accidentally becomes embedded in his chest, letting him sense the world through music. The company labels him a "defect" and hunts him, so he teams up with allies including Peppermint and the robot cat 808 to take on CEO Kale Vandelay.
