What it is
"Street Spirit (Fade Out)" is the closing track of Radiohead's second album, The Bends (1995), released as a single in January 1996. Thom Yorke said it drew on R.E.M. and on Ben Okri's novel The Famished Road. Built on a repeating guitar arpeggio, it has a dark, hypnotic mood.
