What it is

"Father of Mine" is a rock song by Everclear from the album So Much for the Afterglow, released as a single in 1998. Frontman Art Alexakis wrote it about his own childhood, when his father left the family while Alexakis was a young boy. It is one of the few openly autobiographical songs Alexakis has written, and he later described writing it as a kind of catharsis.
