What it is
"Jealous Guy" is a song by John Lennon from his second studio album, Imagine (1971). Its lyrics are a confession in which the narrator admits that feelings of inadequacy led him to cause pain to people he loved. Lennon began writing it in 1968 as "Child of Nature," inspired by a lecture Maharishi Mahesh Yogi gave in Rishikesh, and later rewrote the lyrics. A 1981 Roxy Music cover became a hit.
