What it is
"Hi Ren" is a self-released single by Welsh musician Ren (Ren Gill), released in December 2022 with a video he directed himself. Drawing on his experiences with mental and physical illness, it is staged as an internal dialogue between a darker, self-doubting voice and Ren himself, mostly over nylon-string guitar.
