John Lennon defends staying in bed and stepping out of the rush while everyone else hurries around.
"I'm Only Sleeping" is a 1966 Beatles song, credited to Lennon–McCartney but written mainly by John Lennon, released on Revolver in the UK (and earlier on Yesterday and Today in North America). Lennon's first lyric draft suggests it is about the pleasures of staying in bed, drawing on his own habit of sleeping, reading or watching TV when the band was not touring.
