The title track of Arcade Fire's Grammy-winning album looks back on growing up in the suburbs and the wish to return to that time.
"The Suburbs" is the opening title track of Arcade Fire's third album, The Suburbs, released in August 2010; the album won the 2011 Grammy for Album of the Year. The album's lyrics draw on Win and William Butler's upbringing in The Woodlands, a Houston suburb, and Win Butler described it as neither a love letter to nor an indictment of the suburbs but a letter from them.
