What it is
"Fake Smile" is a track on Ariana Grande's 2019 album Thank U, Next, co-written with Justin Tranter, and it samples Wendy Rene's 1964 soul song "After Laughter (Comes Tears)." It is about the pressure of life in the public eye to act as if everything is fine; Grande rejects that pressure and chooses to fully feel her emotions.
