It's been a long time coming, but change comes 🕊️
Written after Sam Cooke was turned away from a whites-only motel, the song became a civil rights anthem of weary but unbroken hope.
"A Change Is Gonna Come" is a song by Sam Cooke, first released on his 1964 album Ain't That Good News and later issued as a single. Several experiences shaped it, including a 1963 incident in which Cooke and his group were turned away from a whites-only motel in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Cooke was also moved by Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" to write about racism himself.
