Watch this when
Anomalisa
When everyone sounds the same, maybe the new person isn't the fix.
Who it's for
Anomalisa makes emotional flatness literally audible: every character except Lisa is voiced by the same actor, so the viewer hears the world the way Michael experiences it.
Feelings it meets
What it is
Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson's film follows Michael Stone, a customer service expert who travels to Cincinnati to promote his latest book at a convention and perceives everyone around him as having the same face and voice. At his hotel he meets Lisa, an insecure woman whose distinct voice captivates him, and the two spend the night together.
