Sometimes grief doesn't cry. It complains about how you parked.
Otto is a clear picture of how grief in an older man often shows up: not as tears but as irritation, rigid routines and pushing everyone away.
Based on Fredrik Backman's novel A Man Called Ove, Marc Forster's film follows Otto Anderson, a widower in suburban Pittsburgh who has become bitter and rigidly orderly after losing his wife Sonya and being pushed into retirement. His solitary routine is interrupted when a young family moves in across the street, and the persistent, warm-hearted Marisol draws him into their lives.
