Soul
You finally got the thing you wanted and felt… nothing? Maybe the point was never the big moment. ✨
Who it's for
Soul splits one common distress into two characters: Joe, who believes his life only counts if his jazz dream comes true, and 22, who is so sure nothing is worth it that she refuses to begin.
Feelings it meets
What it is
Joe Gardner is a middle school music teacher and jazz pianist in New York. On the day he lands a gig he has long hoped for, he falls into a manhole, and his soul ends up in the Great Before, a realm where new souls prepare for life on Earth. Mistaken for a mentor, Joe is paired with 22, a cynical soul who does not want to live on Earth.
