You don't need to say the perfect thing. Be the rabbit. 🐇
Each animal who arrives offers a familiar, well-meant response: talk about it, get angry, remember exactly how it was, laugh it off, hide, clean it up, knock down someone else's.
The Rabbit Listened is a 2018 picture book written and illustrated by Cori Doerrfeld, published by Dial Books. A child named Taylor builds a block tower that is knocked down by birds. A series of animals arrive, each offering their own way of handling it, such as shouting, hiding or seeking revenge, but none of it helps.
In print; widely held in libraries, often available on Libby/Hoopla; read-aloud videos and audio versions are common.
