What it is

"I Have Confidence" is sung by Julie Andrews as Maria in the 1965 film The Sound of Music. Richard Rodgers wrote both music and lyrics for the film after Oscar Hammerstein II's death; it was not in the 1959 stage show. In the scene, Maria leaves the abbey and travels by bus and on foot through Salzburg to start a new job as governess to a naval captain's seven children.
