What it is

"Don't You Want Me" was released in 1981 as the fourth single from the Human League's album Dare. It is a duet about a romance from conflicting points of view, sung by Philip Oakey and Susan Ann Sulley. Oakey drew the lyrics from a photo-story in a teen girls' magazine. The song was first conceived as a male solo, but the 1976 film A Star Is Born inspired him to turn it into a duet.
