What it is

"The Anthem" is a song by the American rock band Good Charlotte, written by Joel and Benji Madden with producer John Feldmann and released as the second single from The Young and the Hopeless in January 2003. Joel Madden said it is about not living the way you are supposed to live: rejecting the expected path of college, a job, a house and a family, and taking pride in going another way.
