What it is
"Rebel Rebel" is a song written and produced by David Bowie and released in February 1974 as the lead single from Diamond Dogs. It portrays a streetwise young rebel whose carefree attitude worries the adults around them, and it plays with gender ambiguity through a flustered parent who cannot tell whether their child is a boy or a girl.
