What it is
"I Bet on Losing Dogs" is the sixth track on Mitski's 2016 album Puberty 2, her first release on Dead Oceans. The song uses the image of betting on a losing dog as a metaphor for being drawn to people who are bound to lose but remain lovable and hard to resist. The album as a whole explores longing, love, depression and alienation.
