Waiting for the text back. Waiting for the results. Waiting for your life to start. Vladimir and Estragon have been waiting since 1953. 🌳
Vladimir and Estragon spend two days by a bare tree waiting for Godot, who sends word each evening that he will come tomorrow.
Samuel Beckett's two-act play follows Vladimir and Estragon, who wait by a single tree on a country road for someone called Godot. They pass the time with conversation, bickering and routines, and encounter Pozzo and his servant Lucky. At the end of each act a boy arrives with word that Godot will come tomorrow, and the second act echoes the first with small differences.
In print (Grove Press; Faber in the UK), in libraries (Libby/Hoopla); audio recordings of the play exist. Not public domain. Filmed in 2001 for the Beckett on Film project.
