"Redbone" is a 2016 single by Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) from his third studio album, "Awaken, My Love!", released November 17, 2016. It is a sultry, romantic song addressed to a girlfriend, and its hook urges staying alert, or "woke", if the relationship is going to work. The track pays homage to P-Funk and 1970s R&B and was produced by Ludwig Göransson.
