What it is

"The House That Built Me" is a country ballad by Miranda Lambert from her album Revolution, released as its third single in March 2010. It was written by Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin, and Shamblin based it on his own yearly visits to his childhood home. A woman goes back to the house where she grew up and asks the current resident if she can look inside, revisiting the memories that shaped her there.
