Library / Major Life Transition
Listen to this when
The first piano notes of Spirited Away sound exactly like leaving home. Then, slowly, like finding your courage somewhere new.
The score follows a child's journey from reluctant departure to hard-won competence, so listening in order traces a transition arc the listener can borrow for their own move or change.
This is the original soundtrack to Hayao Miyazaki's film Spirited Away, composed by Joe Hisaishi and performed by the New Japan Philharmonic. It was released in July 2001 by Studio Ghibli Records with Tokuma Japan Communications, and by Milan Records in the US in 2002.
