Yellowcard's breakout hit longs to return to a place and someone tied to younger days.
"Ocean Avenue" is the second single from Yellowcard's 2003 album of the same name, released by Capitol Records. On the surface it reads as a song about a relationship falling apart, but songwriter Ryan Key meant it as a farewell to the simpler, youthful days the band spent on Florida's coast near Jacksonville, and guitarist Ben Harper said the longing is more about a place and a time than a person.
