What it is

"The Book of Soul" is an autobiographical track on Ab-Soul's 2012 album Control System, produced by Tommy Black. It opens with his childhood bout of Stevens-Johnson syndrome, which left him with dark lips and light-sensitive eyes and led to teasing in adolescence. It is addressed to his longtime partner and collaborator Alori Joh, who died in February 2012 and to whom the album is dedicated.
