What it is
"Butterflies" is a 2018 single from Kacey Musgraves' album Golden Hour, written with Luke Laird and Natalie Hemby. Musgraves wrote it in early 2016, shortly after meeting singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly, whom she married in 2017. It moves away from her usual cynicism to capture the excitement of meeting someone and falling in love.
