What it is
"On the Road Again" is a 1980 song by Willie Nelson, written for the soundtrack of the film Honeysuckle Rose, his first leading film role. On a flight, director Jerry Schatzberg and the film's executive producer asked him for a song about life on the road, and Nelson quickly wrote it on an airsick bag. Set to a train-like beat, it is about the life of a touring musician.
