What it is
"Levels" is a 2011 progressive house single by Swedish producer Avicii (Tim Bergling), built around a synth lead and stabbing synth chords. A gospel-style vocal sample from Etta James's "Something's Got a Hold on Me" enters during a beatless middle section before the main motif returns. Bergling previewed it on BBC Radio 1 in 2010, and it is widely seen as his breakout and signature track.
