What it is
"Eye of the Tiger" is a 1982 hard rock song by the American band Survivor. Guitarist Frankie Sullivan and keyboardist Jim Peterik wrote it as the theme for Rocky III after Sylvester Stallone asked for something to match the film's boxing scenes. The title comes from a line spoken by Apollo Creed in the film. Sullivan has described its message as self-empowerment and getting motivated.
