What it is
"Uptown Funk" is a song by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, released in November 2014 as the lead single from Ronson's album Uptown Special (2015). It is a funk-pop track drawing on 1980s funk and the Minneapolis sound, and its lyrics deal in playful boasting about style, fashion and self-confidence. It began as a jam Mars and his band played on tour before being developed in the studio.
