A 30-minute game about a relationship that doesn't make it, and the person you get back when it ends.
Instead of dialogue, conversations are small puzzles: early on the speech-bubble pieces are few and fit easily, and as the relationship strains they become harder to assemble, so the player physically feels communication getting harder.
Florence is a short, story-driven mobile game directed by Ken Wong at the Melbourne studio Mountains and published by Annapurna Interactive, with music by Kevin Penkin. Told in 20 brief chapters with very little written dialogue, it follows Florence Yeoh, who is stuck in a routine of work and social media until she follows the sound of a cello and meets Krish, a street musician.
