Listen to this when
After a fight, before sleep, whenever your head is too loud: 43 minutes of piano notes that take their time disappearing.
Budd's slow, sparse piano notes are treated with long reverb and echo by Eno and Lanois until each note blooms and fades before the next arrives.
The Pearl is the second collaborative album by Harold Budd and Brian Eno, released by Editions EG in 1984 and produced by Eno and Daniel Lanois. It was recorded at Grant Avenue Studio in Hamilton, Ontario, and is built mainly on Budd's treated piano, shaped with electronic processing, reverb and nature recordings.
