Library / Living With Mental Illness
Watch this when
Not a diagnosis with a person attached. People, with a diagnosis. 🌊
Isolation and stigma are some of the heaviest burdens of serious mental illness, and seeing several different people live with the same diagnosis can counter both.
Lisa Klein and Doug Blush's documentary follows several people living with bipolar disorder, including Cheri Keating, Michael 'Petey' Peterson, Carlton Davis and writer Liz Spikol, as they manage relationships, keep jobs and deal with medical insurance problems. Klein was inspired to make it after reading Spikol's Philadelphia Weekly article about her life with bipolar disorder.
