Laughing it off. Acting fine. Because boys don't cry... right? 🥀 #BoysDontCry
Robert Smith has said the song reflects how English boys were encouraged not to show emotion, so it names a cultural rule many men live under.
"Boys Don't Cry" is a song by the Cure, written by Robert Smith, Lol Tolhurst and Michael Dempsey and released as a stand-alone UK single in June 1979; it later became the title track of the band's American album Boys Don't Cry. The narrator is a man who has given up trying to win back a lost love and tries to hide how he really feels.
