Some friendships don't end with a fight. They end with both of you dancing to the same song, in different places. 🤖🐶

Who it's for

Robot Dreams treats the end of a friendship as a real grief, which is rarely taken seriously on screen.

What it is

In this wordless animated feature, adapted from Sara Varon's 2007 graphic novel and set in Manhattan in 1985, a lonely dog named Dog builds a robot companion he ordered from a TV advertisement. The two spend a happy summer exploring the city together, including rollerskating in Central Park. After a day at the beach, Robot rusts and can't move, and the beach closes for the season before Dog can rescue him.
