What it is
"august" is a song from Taylor Swift's 2020 album folklore, written and produced with Jack Antonoff. Told by a fictional young woman, it looks back on a brief summer romance with someone who was already in a relationship and went back to his partner when the season ended. It forms a love triangle with "cardigan" and "betty" on the same album.
