When the worry gets a name, it gets smaller 💭
Kevin's checking and worrying are shown plainly, without making him strange or silly, and the book gives the worry a name so a child can see it as separate from themselves.
A picture book about Kevin, a boy who keeps checking things and can't stop worrying. A counselor helps him understand that he has obsessive-compulsive disorder. Kevin names his OCD "Mr. Worry" and slowly learns to stop following its demands. The author wrote it as a mother whose own son has OCD.
Print from Albert Whitman & Company; widely held in public libraries.
