"Anticipation" is the opening track and lead single of Carly Simon's 1971 album of the same name, produced by Paul Samwell-Smith. Simon wrote it on guitar in about fifteen minutes while waiting for Cat Stevens to pick her up for a date. It reached No. 13 on the Billboard pop chart and was later famously used in Heinz ketchup ads.
