For anyone who looks in the mirror and misses who they used to be. She's still in there. 🥧
The song puts words to a very specific ache: looking in the mirror and missing the person you used to be.
Written for the musical Waitress, the ballad is sung from the perspective of Jenna, a woman who looks at the life she has ended up in and barely recognises the person she has become. Sara Bareilles released her own version as the lead single from What's Inside: Songs from Waitress in September 2015.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music (widely available). Also on the Waitress Original Broadway Cast Recording (sung by Jessie Mueller).
