What it is
"Under the Bridge" is a 1991 song by Red Hot Chili Peppers from the album Blood Sugar Sex Magik, released as a single in early 1992. Anthony Kiedis wrote the lyrics during a period of loneliness and depression, around three years into sobriety from heroin and cocaine, when he felt distant from his bandmates and that Los Angeles was his only companion.
