What it is
"Song Cry" is a slow rap ballad from Jay-Z's 2001 album The Blueprint, produced and co-written by Just Blaze, and released as the album's fourth single in 2002. It samples Bobby Glenn's "Sounds Like a Love Song." The song looks back on a broken relationship that Jay-Z blames on his own neglect and infidelity; because he is too proud to show emotion openly, the song does the crying for him.
