What it is
"Daddy" is a slow, piano-driven song by Coldplay from their eighth studio album, Everyday Life, released 20 November 2019. It is told from the point of view of a child who longs to see a father who is away. Chris Martin has said it draws on people he knows whose fathers left and on his own absences from his children, and has also cited incarceration as a reason children are separated from their fathers.
