"Linger" is a song by the Irish band The Cranberries from their 1993 debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?. Dolores O'Riordan wrote the lyrics drawing on her experience of falling for a young soldier, and later described it as being about her first serious kiss. The song deals with regret and with being on the weaker side of an uneven romance.
