What it is
"Protection" is the title track of Massive Attack's 1994 album Protection, with vocals by Tracey Thorn of Everything but the Girl. Thorn wrote the words in one sitting after receiving the instrumental, drawing on a story a friend told her about a girl and on her protective feelings toward bandmate Ben Watt after his serious illness.
