round and round go the years 🎠
Joni Mitchell follows a boy from childhood to young adulthood as the seasons turn, framing growing up as a carousel that keeps going round.
"The Circle Game" is a song Joni Mitchell wrote in 1966 about growing up and the passage of time. She wrote it as a response to Neil Young's "Sugar Mountain", partly to offer hope about life after one's teenage years. It was first recorded by Ian & Sylvia in 1967, and Mitchell's own recording appeared on her album Ladies of the Canyon.
