What it is
"Memory Lane (Sittin' in da Park)" is the sixth track on Nas's 1994 debut album Illmatic. DJ Premier produced it, building the beat on a sample of Reuben Wilson's "We're in Love". In the song Nas recounts his years in the Queensbridge Houses as a series of neighborhood scenes, including dice games, run-ins with police, violence and drugs, friends who died, and local figures.
