Listen to this when
When you suddenly notice your parents getting older ⏳
Raitt notices her parents aging and her own life moving faster, and the song turns that fear into an appreciation of finding love and meaning just in time.
"Nick of Time" is the title track of Bonnie Raitt's 1989 album Nick of Time, released as a single in 1990. The song is about getting older and how precious time is. Raitt drew on a friend near middle age who longed for a baby and on her worry about her own aging parents, and she wrote most of it during a week-long cabin retreat in Mendocino, California.
